Social Entrepreneurship Needs a New Funding Model

 In EOS in the News

EOS is thrilled to be featured in Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR), “Social Entrepreneurship Needs a New Funding Model” by Ben Powell.

Impact investors often pass on social enterprises with potential because the deals are too small to justify the effort. A new model works through intermediaries to get entrepreneurs, sometimes referred to as the “missing middle”, the capital they need to scale their impact.

Thanks to the support from Agora Partnerships and the World Impact Foundation, EOS was able to leverage this new funding model to expand their impact in rural communities in Central America.

Since the Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR) requires a subscription, you can read the full text posted for free here on Philanthropy News Digest.
